About the Artists

Ali Senal, Creator

Ali Senal is a 2018 Muhlenberg College graduate with a BA in Jewish Studies and Theatre (concentration: Acting). Much of her scholarship has focused on the intersections between Judaism, gender, and performance. Her most recent academic work was an autoethnographic interrogation of her patrilineal, Jewish identity which resulted in a performative work entitled, "Jew-ish? One Big Halakhic Mess."

Ali worked for the summer of 2018 as a Gilda Slifka Intern at the Hadassah-Brandeis Institute. She completed research for scholar, Laura Jockusch on her project entitled, "A Victim of Her Time: The Lives of Stella Goldschlag–Gestapo Informer and Holocaust Survivor." She simultaneously completed work on this website as her own personal project.

Ali has recently accepted a permanent position at the Hadassah-Brandeis Institute as Communication Coordinator. Future plans include graduate school where she will pursue further degrees in Jewish and Performance Studies.
